Sorry we’ve been MIA for 3 months.   We have been incredibly busy with RL obligations which are finally settling down.   We hope to be more regular in our postings from now on.   *crosses fingers*

Anyway, you are probably already aware that the titles of True Blood episodes are songs, and often times, the lyrics to those songs have a lot to do with the episode at hand.   Case in point, Season 2 Episode 9 “I Will Rise Up” (which is in our opinion, one of the best examples of this fact).

We have both spent hours (yes, we are that crazy) pouring over lyrics to try and decipher what could possibly be happing on the episodes so without further ado, I give you the first two episode lyrics.

In the interest of brevity, and my sanity, I will post one today and one song tomorrow (since we have 2 episode titles out).

Let us decode, fellow viking lovers!  “Onward to ADVENTURE!”  – Russell Edgington

Season 4 – Episode 1 “She’s not there”

“She’s not there” Originally by The Zombies but I am posting the Santana version because it’s cooler.  (FYI – our comments are in BOLD).

In our opinion, “She’s not there” refers to either someone physically not being where they are supposed to be or it has to do with someone being mentally not there (not in the right frame of mind).

Sookie is in Faeville

Tara is MIA

Marnie is possessed by Hallow

Debbie Pelt has been missing since her fight with Sookie.  She is a HUGE threat for Alcide and Sookie and could potentially free Russell since they can sense each other.

Arlene is acting irrationally in regards to her demon baby.

Crystal is missing having been taken by her fiance brother cousin Felton.

Mrs. Fortenberry is going to desperate lengths to rid her son of a certain red headed blood sucker.

Summer kind of went MIA after Hoyt broke up with her and possibly has something to do with the creepy harbainger doll that was looming in Jessica and Hoyt’s house.

Queen Sophie Anne – perhaps QSA disappears after her fight with Bill.   Now, I do not think that Beehl is powerful enough to actually kill her himself.  If she is dead, he has (unexpected) help.

“She’s not there” by The Zombies

Well no one told me about her the way she lied
Well no one told me about her how many people cried
But it’s too late to say you’re sorry
How would I know why should I care
Please don’t bother tryin’ to find her
She’s not there

Well let me tell you ’bout the way she looked
The way she’d act and the colour of her hair
Her voice was soft and cool
Her eyes were clear and bright
But she’s not there

Well no one told me about her, what could I do
Well no one told me about her, though they all knew
But it’s too late to say you’re sorry
How would I know, why should I care
Please don’t bother tryin’ to find her
She’s not there

Well let me tell you ’bout the way she looked
The way she’d act and the colour of her hair
Her voice was soft and cool
Her eyes were clear and bright
But she’s not there

But it’s too late to say you’re sorry
How would I know, why should I care
Please don’t bother tryin’ to find her
She’s not there

Well let me tell you ’bout the way she looked
The way she’d act and the colour of her hair
Her voice was soft and cool
Her eyes were clear and bright
But she’s not there

Excellent post! I can definitely see those lyrics being about Sookie. Especially the “but it’s too late to say you’re sorry”.

YES!!! Its about that time again! With S4 beginning production, all us ‘deranged fans’ can rise out of our coffin and ‘post-S3 stupor’. I loved S3, I really did, but not as much as I did the previous seasons; hopefully the writers and crew took all of our demands, er, criticism into good use.

S3 stood all the characters up and now S4 is ready to knock them all down. I completely agree with the song interpretations and think that the S4 opener will show us where all our ladies are up to. Primary focus on Sookie of course, I doubt she will make a immediate return to Bon Temps. Besides, the time range in the TB universe between eps is really close together.

I’m liking the ‘Season of the Witch’ concept and hopefully it delivers, bc the werepanther/werewolf draw of S3 really underwhelmed me.

Nice! It’s so exciting there’s something to decode. Looking fwd to tomorrow’s.

I wrote a couple articles about the same subject but you seem to know a bit more about it than I do.
